THE PYRAMID

OK, so it's an ascending number of syllables per line... from one up to ten... then back again to one. 

I hope I've not messed this up and that it actually does look like a pyramid. [With my computer skills, it'll probably just look like a potato, but never mind...]

[8] Bleak memories? Still chasing me.
[9] So I'll keep running 'til my feet bleed.
[1O] Breathtaking pain leaking from my dark soul. 
[9] I see him, grinning, in my mind's eye. 
[8] Burn him from the face of the Earth. 
[7] You can't? You're no good to me. 
[6] So catch me if you can. 
[5] Howling at the moon. 
[4] Until sunrise.
