WHEN THE MASK SLIPS?

'THE CHARMER'

Her eyes I could drown in.
Happily.

Her smile makes me sigh.
Contentedly.

She makes me nervous.
In a good way.

She tells me that she loves me.
My heart swells.

She begins criticising.
My eyebrows raise.

She makes me nervous.
In a bad way.

She runs hot and cold.
My heart sinks.

She is brutally cruel.
I try not to cry.

Her ego crushes my spirit.
I turn to leave.

She softly calls me back.
I hesitate, unsure.

She gently calls me back.
I cry for what could have been.

She sweetly calls me back.
I walk away.
