FEAR NOT

I began to write this little poem some time ago, and I think that hearing about the events in Westminster yesterday helped me to finish it:

'FORTITUDE FOR TODAY'

Fear's an enemy
Stalking me, and stalking us
With many henchmen.

Whether school bully,
Narcissist or terrorist,
They want us to flinch.

But there are also
Better angels working hard:
We can be inspired.

On TV I see
Much fearlessness and courage:
They're things of beauty.

Stand up, breath deeply;
Try not to fear fear itself:
There's steel in your bones.
