ENGLAND & SCOTLAND

'TWO NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP'

The passionate Celts
Toe-to-toe with fierce Saxons;
Brutality reigns.

They love and they hate;
They're the thistle and the rose:
Typical siblings.

  1. I know this is tangential but I had a fleeting poetic thought and immediately thought of you (since you’re my virtual poet laureate) (I haven’t played Rugby since I was in med school, and all of those bloody memories are just…bloody) I’m having lots of fun with parenthetic asides today (or I’m just stalling).

    Anyway, I was recently asked what I would wish for if I had just one wish and this is what came to mind

    I wish I may
    I wish I might
    Do everything else
    In my life
    Just right

    Thanks for letting me play for a moment, and for being you.

    1. Firstly, this is wise, sharp and succinct. Lovely. You really should blog it! Your followers who enjoy your fine prose would welcome some good poetry. 🙂
      Secondly, you’re very kind, sir, and most welcome.
      Haha I’m not sure about your wisdom of choice in your virtual poet laureate, mind! 😉

      1. Haha, it’s a pleasant and easy-going word. Go with it!
        Hmm, some to think of it, I’ve been described as lazy, too… though I always felt the phrase “deliciously languid” had a certain poetry to it. 😉
